“Spirituality and Money” is the theme for our parish-wide read this fall. As I learn to become a closer follower of Jesus, I realize that I have to address the role of money in my life. And as I learn to be a faithful priest, I see the need to engage this topic in our faith community. I am not alone: your fellow parishioners, some of whom serve on the Vestry or the Stewardship Committee and others of whom care deeply about spiritual formation, have encouraged this parish-wide focus.
I hope you will be bold enough to read at least one of the essays that have been curated for St. Peter’s. After all, our Parish Vision is that we become “bold followers of Jesus,” and Jesus talked about money all the time.
The essays to be discussed are below:
These issues are too challenging to face alone! Therefore, we are planning three gatherings hosted by parishioners where we can talk about the themes and questions these essays evoke in us. Just bring your curiosity and earnestness, even if you haven’t had time to read all the three essays.
