Sunday Parish Hall Offering: Listening for God

This 3-week adult formation series, facilitated by the Reverend Dr. Paul Hanneman, concludes this Sunday, June 19, 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. in the Parish Hall. Henri Nouwen described prayer as “being all ear for God.” James Finley suggests we begin each prayer session by breathing in while listening to God tell us how much God loves us – and breathing out with our response, “and I love you.” Dr. Hanneman invites us to explore this love affair God has with us…to feel into what it means to be loved by God, into what it means to love God in response, and some of the ways we can begin to let this love shape our daily living.

Third Sunday’s Taizé Service

On Sunday, June 19 at 5:00 p.m., the Holy Eucharist is celebrated in the manner of Taizé, a monastic community in France founded in 1949, devoted to prayer and reconciliation within the church and the human family. This unique service at St. Peter’s includes contemplative song, piano music, prayer, candle-lighting, touching blessed water, and times of silence.

Saints in the Summer Offering

Saints in the Summer will be offered Sunday evenings at 5:00 p.m. on June 26, July 31, August 7, August 14, and August 21. Our parish family will gather for worship, followed by a meal with fun activities designed to inspire our walk with God. Time together will be inclusive of children, but not child-centric, so bring the whole household! This is a community effort, so visit www.st-peters.org/rsvp to sign up to help make a saint “come alive” by assisting the clergy with the homily and prayers; developing an activity to do over dinner; and/or preparing a simple meal. Or sign up on the bulletin board in the Parish House. Contact the clergy or formation staff with questions.

Revised Worship Schedule for Sunday 5:00 p.m.

Beginning in July, the 5:00 p.m. Holy Eucharist monthly schedule will change to the third Sunday only. On Sunday, July 17, our regular Taizé Holy Eucharist service will be offered. Then on the fifth Sunday, July 31, Saints in the Summer continues weekly at 5:00 p.m. through August 21. The new fall schedule for Sunday Evenings at St. Peter’s will be announced soon.
